Healthy Homes for Bennington, L3C is a partnership to enhance community health while revitalizing Bennington, Vermont’s downtown region by renovating distressed or vacant homes and facilitating home ownership.

Provide affordable home ownership opportunities

Assist with recruitment and retention of a qualified workforce for Bennington

Support and be committed to community development and local investment in downtown Bennington

Establish stable and supportive environments that improve the health of Bennington families

Support the local economy by employing local contractors to perform the renovations of downtown homes

Eligibility

Must qualify as a first time home buyer
Greater than 18 months employment tenure
Full-time or benefited part-time employees would be eligible
Employee’s household income must be capable of supporting the debt service. Typically, predetermination letters can be provided by a local lender. Securing final mortgage financing will be the responsibility of the individual.
Must attend a first-time home buyer education program such as Vermont NeighborWorks (www.nwwvt.org/homeownership/hbe/) or other comparable program. Healthy Homes of Bennington, L3C will cover any fees related to the educational program.
